Connection: Noun + であろうと / な-Adj + であろうと
Usage: A formal expression meaning "even if it is" or "regardless of whether it is." Similar to であれ but slightly more emphatic with the volitional form. Often followed by a statement of unchanging principle or determination.
Examples:
どんな困難であろうと、乗り越えてみせる。(No matter what difficulty it may be, I will overcome it.)
相手が誰であろうと、公平に接する。(No matter who the other person is, I will treat them fairly.)
