Connection: Verb dictionary form / Noun + にはあたらない
Usage: Very similar to にあたらない but with the は particle adding emphasis or contrast. Used to firmly state that a particular reaction or action is unnecessary or unwarranted. Slightly more emphatic than にあたらない. Often used when calming someone down or dismissing an overreaction.
Examples:
非難するにはあたらない。彼にも事情があったのだろう。(There is no need to blame him. He must have had his reasons.)
今回の失敗を悲観するにはあたらない。(There is no need to be pessimistic about this failure.)
特に騒ぐにはあたらない問題だ。(It's an issue that doesn't warrant making a fuss about.)
