Connection: Verb て-form + から

Indicates that one action is completed before the next begins. Emphasizes the sequence: "first do A, then do B".

How to form:

• Group 2: 食べる → 食べてから (after eating)
• Group 1: 帰る → 帰ってから (after returning); 飲む → 飲んでから (after drinking)
• Irregular: する → してから (after doing); くる → きてから (after coming)

てから vs あとで:

• てから emphasizes doing A FIRST, then B (tighter sequence)
• あとで is more general "after A" (can be a loose timeframe)
• ご飯を食べてから出かけます (I'll go out right after eating — tight sequence)
• ご飯を食べたあとで出かけます (I'll go out after eating — more relaxed)

Examples:

• シャワーを浴びてから寝ます (I sleep after taking a shower)
• 日本に来てから日本語を勉強し始めました (After coming to Japan, I started studying Japanese)
