Usage: Acknowledges a fact or statement in the first clause, then presents a contrasting or qualifying point. Similar to 「そうは言っても」. Often used in written or formal speech.

Examples:

春になったとはいえ、まだ寒い日が続いている。(Although spring has come, cold days continue.)

大人とはいえ、わからないことはたくさんある。(Even though they're adults, there are many things they don't understand.)

安全だとはいえ、注意は必要だ。(That said it's safe, caution is still necessary.)
