Connection: Verb (plain form) + ものとする

Usage: Used in legal documents, regulations, contracts, and official rules to state provisions or stipulations. Very formal. Equivalent to "shall" in legal English.

Examples:

届出は書面によるものとする。(Notifications shall be made in writing.)

会費は毎月初めに支払うものとする。(Membership fees shall be paid at the beginning of each month.)

本契約は、双方の署名をもって有効とするものとする。(This contract shall become effective upon the signatures of both parties.)
