ましょうか

Connection: Verb stem + ましょうか

How to form:

• Group 2: 開ける → 開けましょうか (shall I open it?)
• Group 1: 持つ → 持ちましょうか (shall I hold/carry it?); 書く → 書きましょうか (shall I write it?)
• Irregular: する → しましょうか (shall I do it?)

Two meanings depending on context:

1. Offering help (shall I ~?): 荷物を持ちましょうか (Shall I carry your luggage?)
2. Suggesting together (shall we ~?): 何を食べましょうか (What shall we eat?)

Responding to offers:

• Accept: はい、お願いします (Yes, please)
• Decline: いいえ、大丈夫です (No, I'm fine)

Examples:

• 手伝いましょうか (Shall I help?)
• 窓を開けましょうか (Shall I open the window?)
• どこで会いましょうか (Where shall we meet?)
