[い-adjective negative: not ~]

Rule: Drop い, add くない

Examples:

• 高い → 高くない (not expensive)
• 大きい → 大きくない (not big)
• 暑い → 暑くない (not hot)
• 難しい → 難しくない (not difficult)

Polite form: 高くないです or 高くありません

Special case いい (good):

• いい → よくない (not good) — NOT いくない!

Note: くない itself conjugates like an い-adjective:

• Past negative: くなかった (高くなかった = was not expensive)

Examples:

• この本は面白くないです (This book is not interesting)
• 今日はあまり寒くないです (It's not very cold today)
• あの映画はよくなかったです (That movie was not good)
