Connection: Verb (て form) + はいられない
Usage: Expresses that one cannot remain in a current state or continue doing something because the situation demands action. There is an urgency or pressure to change.
Examples:
いつまでも泣いてはいられない。前に進まなければ。(I can't keep crying forever. I have to move forward.)
試験が近いので、遊んでばかりはいられない。(The exam is near, so I can't just keep playing around.)
こんな大変な状況では、じっとしてはいられない。(In such a serious situation, I can't just sit still.)
