Verb (dictionary form) + に + かたくない

[Not hard to; easy to]

Connection: Verb (dictionary form) + に + かたくない

Usage: Expresses that something is not difficult to do — specifically imagining, understanding, or predicting. Used with a limited set of verbs: 想像する (imagine), 推測する (guess), 理解する (understand), 予想する (predict). Formal and literary.

Note: This is essentially the same as にかたくない (entry 64) and they are often treated together. See にかたくない for more details.

Examples:

彼の苦労は想像にかたくない。(It is not hard to imagine his hardships.)

この結果は予想にかたくなかった。(This result was not hard to predict.)

彼女の悲しみは察するにかたくない。(It is not hard to sense her sorrow.)
