Connection: Verb (volitional form) + が + Verb (まい form) + が

Usage: Expresses that regardless of whether something happens or doesn't happen, the result is the same. Combines the affirmative volitional with the negative volitional (まい). Very formal/literary.

Examples:

行こうが行くまいが、あなたの自由だ。(Whether you go or not, it's your freedom.)

信じようが信じまいが、これは事実だ。(Whether you believe it or not, this is a fact.)

雨が降ろうが降るまいが、予定通り出発する。(Whether it rains or not, we depart as planned.)
