Connection: Verb (volitional form) + が / と

Usage: Expresses that no matter what action is taken or what happens, the result remains the same. Conveys strong determination or inevitability. More formal than ても.

Variations:

• Verb (volitional) + が: 何を言おうが (no matter what you say)
• Verb (volitional) + と: どんなに頑張ろうと (no matter how hard you try)
• 疑問詞 + ようが/ようと: 誰が反対しようと (no matter who opposes)

Examples:

何を言われようが、私の考えは変わらない。(No matter what I'm told, my mind won't change.)

どんなに努力しようと、不可能なことはある。(No matter how hard you try, there are things that are impossible.)

周りがどう思おうが、自分の道を進む。(No matter what others think, I will go my own way.)
